Yoga Basics, 60 min.
Awaken your strength, energy, and flexibility! In this class, you will open and stretch your muscles with slow movement, careful alignment, and conscious breath-work. Yoga poses and asanas, as well as proper alignment, will be broken down for your greater understanding. You will also learn to focus on linking conscious breath with mindful slow movement. It won’t be easy or lazy, just slow, thoughtful, and grounding. This class will also touch on the fundamentals of yoga such as Yin, a non-active deep stretch, ligament strengthening practice. While this class is excellent for new yogis, all levels of practice are welcome. Bring a yoga mat and your bare feet.
Yin, 60 min.
Yin Yoga, a passive form of yoga that is generally practiced on the floor. It is unique in that you are asked to relax in postures, soften the muscle and move closer to the bone. While yang-like yoga practices are more superficial, Yin offers a much deeper access to the body. You will gain access to the deeper tissues such as the connective tissue and fascia and many of the postures focus on areas that encompass a joint (hips, sacrum, spine). As one ages flexibility in the joints decreases and Yin yoga is a wonderful way to maintain that flexibility. Yin is appropriate for all levels of fitness. Bring a yoga mat and your bare feet.
Yoga Nidra, 60 min.
Yoga Nidra is a practice of guided meditation that creates deep physical relaxation, assists in the releasing of deep seated habits, and can expand an existing spiritual practice. Yoga Nidra promotes deep rest and relaxation that isn’t found in your average meditation practice. The stages of body scan and breath awareness alone can be practiced to calm the nervous system, leading to less stress and better health. Yoga Nidra is excellent for those seeking to develop a meditation practice or looking for healing of physical and emotional injuries. Yoga Nidra, however, is a practice that everyone, from children to seniors, can do. All that your body needs to do is lie down on the floor. And even if you can't lie down on the floor, you can still do this practice seated. We suggest that you dress in layers if you tend to get chilly, as your body temperature drops naturally in this meditative state. Feel free to bring a cozy blanket or your favorite pillow for additional comfort, as well as a yoga mat.
All Levels Flow & Restore Yoga, 75 min.
We begin with a down tempo flow that will warm the body and then ease into a gentle meditative restorative practice that uses props to fully support the body in each pose. Come as you are! All Levels classes are suitable for beginners, masters and everyone in between. These classes offer modifications so that you can customize your class to fit your specific needs and level of expertise.
Chakra Yoga Flow, 75 min.
Channel more confidence, creativity, and joy in your life with a basic understanding of your body's energy centers; the chakras. In this class we will address the first five chakras associated with the physical elements earth, water, fire, air, and ether (or space). When energy becomes blocked in a chakra, it triggers physical, mental, or emotional imbalances that manifest in symptoms such as anxiety, lethargy, or poor digestion. During this asana practice, we will bring awareness to, stimulate and move energy through these chakras to counteract any imbalance. You will be able to tap into the chakras as a potent way of harnessing and shifting your energy in the direction you want it to go. This class is suitable for all levels of practice. Bring a yoga mat.
Midday Meditation, 30 mins.
This class provides simple and effective breath and meditation exercises to apply in our daily lives to release mental, emotional and physical tension. We will begin with mild stretching to support the body to release stress, and practice ways of working with the breath and a variety of styles of meditation to enhance our capacity to be healthy, calm, aware and fully present. Bring a yoga mat.
Yang Trifecta, 60 mins
This hybrid class combines active, yang practices like Pilates, yoga, and strength training for an effective total body workout. Resistance bands, free weights and your body weight will sculpt your arms, abs, legs, and booty. Benefits of this class include increased core strength, stability, stamina, and agility. We finish with a cooling yin series to balance the body. While this class is challenging, it is appropriate for all fitness levels. Modifications can be provided for you by the instructor. Bring a yoga mat and your bare feet.
