Sedentary lifestyles, sitting at a desk and lack of proper exercise can contribute to weakness in the posterior chain, a group of muscles located on the back side of your body. These muscles include the lower back, gluts, hamstrings, and calves. Tapping into your posterior chain can help you access extreme strength, help improve athleticism, and it can leave you significantly less injury-prone, especially with low back and knee injuries. The first half of this class will focus on strengthening these muscles through specific back-side body targeted conditioning techniques. The class concludes with Yin Yoga, static stretches held for stillness and time. This combination of active and non-active practices makes for a totally balanced experience. Class led by Jennifer Miles and sponsored by Item 9 Labs. Class begins at 10:30 AM, check-in begins at 10:00 AM. Participants will not be admitted past 10:45 AM. Valid MMJ cardholders will receive a goodie bag. Non-cardholders are welcome.
