“At the age of 21, I was diagnosed with Ulcerative Colitis - a debilitating, autoimmune digestive disease. I had a hard time balancing all of the medication I was prescribed with feeling healthy and happy. I was literally sick and tired of feeling sick and tired. Eventually, I was able to refocus my health plan from treating symptoms of my digestive disease with prescription drugs to addressing the root of the issue with healthy mind, body, and life practices. This includes a healthy, anti-inflammatory diet, as well as a dedicated meditation and yoga practice, QiGong Energy Healing, along with Traditional Chinese Medicine. Currently, I am completely free of all pharmaceutical drugs and living life happy and in remission.

In my experience with digestive disease and with physical injuries over the years, I found that cannabis had profound impact on the relief of pain and discomfort my body. I also realized the effect that the plant had on my mind-body connection during physical practices like Yoga, Pilates and Strength Training, as I was able to access a sense of a deeper neuromuscular connection.

It was through my experiences with psychedelic plants and fungal therapies that I was able to access a deeper internal awareness, focus that awareness on healing past traumas and let go of what was burdening me, which also had a profound positive impact on my physical health. These experiences not only helped me reconnect to my innate peaceful center, as well as the realization that we are all connected to something greater than ourselves. I was able to integrate this insight into my daily spiritual and meditation practices, which is the key to growth and transformation.

It is important to me to educate people about respectful use of these therapies, in healing way — with ‘whole-istic’ health of the human being in mind. Through my passion project, Cannakula, I am able to bring this deeper connection to self and better health to the community. We practice and educate the community about intentional use of plant and fungal therapies as well as the benefit of practicing yoga and meditation in a clear and unaltered state of consciousness. We also are committed to helping connect medical patients and veterans to helpful resources for alternative medicine and practices that can be positively life-changing.

I have completed 700 hours of advanced yoga training through the Southwest Institute of Healing Arts and Spirit of Yoga and 300 hours of additional training in Yin Yoga, Somatic Movement, and Qigong. I hold a Master-Level Certification in the Integrative Amrit Method of Yoga Nidra: I AM Yoga Nidra™.  Additionally, I specialize in Yoga for Post Traumatic Stress, Hatha Gong™, and Restorative Yoga” - Jennifer
